Will hula hoop exercise help me lose weight? I'm 16 and I want to lose weight. The problem is I don't have much activities because I'm just staying home all day. I only have Hula Hoop. Will this help me? Also, any suggestions on how I could lose weight? Thank you.

Would seriously working out with a hula-hoop be considered EXERCISE? I'm trying to fight off my midlife midriff, and just can't make myself go "fast-walkin'" swinging my arms back and forth. Anyone know anything about hula hoop-ing as an exercise? Like what size hoop is best? What is a weighted hoop? Is it the same as a foam exercise hoop? And is it reasonable to pay around £15-£20 for a hoop? It seems a little expensive for a hula hoop but if it works I'll be willing to pay. Thanks.

Weighted Hula Hoop exercise- does it work? I saw that hula hoops are increasing in popularity for exercise. Went out and bought $1 plastic hula hoop and can only hula hoop for a matter of seconds. Looked further into this type of exercise and saw that it is best to buy a weighted hula hoop. Those are pretty expensive but it seems like it would be a fun type of exercise to do. Has anyone out there bought the weighted hula hoop? Do you think it actually helps with toning and such?

Has anyone tried the Hoopnotica DVD's? (Hula hoop exercise)? I bought a regular hula hoop (the kind with water in it) at the Sports Authority today and I'm having so much fun with it. Hula Hoop exercise/workout? I've been reading all over the web that using a weighted hula hoop (3lbs for my size) that it really helps with the abdominal muscles and slimming the waist. My wife read an article in Time magazine. Now she wants a hula-hoop to exercise with. Is it worth $40? The recent article claims that some woman lost 46 pounds by exercising to a music/instructional video. My wife sent me to the nearest sporting goods store (Dunham's) to buy her a weighted hula-hoop. To my surprise, the store was asking 40 bucks! I declined to buy it and now I'm getting BAD vibes from my wife who wants to lose 50 lbs. by next summer. Can someone convince me that the price is worth it? The specific article she happened to read was under the fitness section and titled "Hoop It Up". The 25 y/o woman featured in the article states that in only 5 months, exercising 45-60 minutes at a time, she lost 46 lbs. -- doesn't say what else she did to accomplish this amazing feat. The founder and author of the California-based exercise program is Christabel Zamor, author of Hooping: A Revolutionary Fitness Program. It is quite big - its diameter is 75 cm. However it was empty inside. I've found somewhere that I can fill it up with rice, but I still can manage to keep it on my hips longer than few seconds. Hula Hooping as exercise? So, I'm 13 years old and weight around 80 pounds, give or take. For my height, I'm pretty skinny, but I've noticed that my abdominal area is starting to get a little bigger. So that I don't end up becoming fat, I'm exercising. I do 10 sit-ups a day, and hula hoop for 10, 20, or 30 minutes, just using a plastic hula hoop. I heard weighted ones are better, but remember that I'm a thirteen year old who weighs 80 pounds. Anyway, is hula hooping and doing sit ups good enough? Should I be doing more sit ups or hula hooping longer? Note that I also ride my bike anywhere from an hour to fours hours almost each day. How good is hula hooping, doing a few sit-ups, and bike riding?

I hoop intensely for AT LEAST 90 minutes a day... as well as watching what I eat, i.e. only good carbs, good fats, etc. To anyone who has done this, or something similar, how were your results? Also, I've read that an hula hooping very fast burns 100 calories in 10 minutes, does anyone know about this? I have hooped for 3 hours before, and that would mean I burned 1800 calories..

exercise routine to get rid of tummy hips thighs? I only can use a hula hoop and exercise ball. I'm a (girl)teenager and about 5'5" and 150 lbs. Daily exercise routine to flatten gut & tummy, get rid of hip fat and biggish thighs by May. (bikinis!) I hurt my knee so can't run, but I can walk. Hula hooping and jump roping, good exercise? hey there, so I am looking to lose some weight, I've already started on a semi good diet, I'm writing down what I eat, when I eat, that kind of thing, I'm eating pretty healthy, I have the occasional small thing of chips But my exercise now is starting the 'walk slim' system with Leslie SanSome or something like that, can't remember her last name, that is 30 minutes of interval walking and what not. So in addition, I am doing a few crunches/ pull ups. I recently bought a hula hoop and a jump rope, will this be a good addition to my exercise regimen?

Is 2 Hours of Exercise a Day Too Much? I'm a 16-year-old female, 5'5 or 5'6, 143-145 pounds (my weight fluctuates during the day), or 166 cm, 62-65 kgs. I'm trying to lose weight, about 35 pounds so that I weight 110 pounds, or 50 kg. I'm willing to exercise every day. I'm following a sensible diet. I made this schedule: Sun: aerobic Mon: aerobic Tue: resistance Wed: aerobic Thur: resistance Fri: aerobic Sat: resistance & aerobic each day, I'll exercise to last 2 hours. Note: I home school, so I have lots of time. For aerobic, I plan on jump-roping and hula hooping 30 minutes each. For resistance, I'll do squats, lunges, crunches, leg lifts, etc. For weights, I'll do curl-ups, etc. I care about how many hours to exercise without wrecking my body. I have limitless time. Thanks. If I lose anymore inches off my waist, with exercise,will it damage my internal organs? I'm 15 , and I originally had a 24inch waist , I already had a flat stomach to begin with , but I wanted to make it super flat , so I started hula hooping with a exercise hoop, and lost additional inches off my waist . Right now, my waist is 20.5inches,and I want to know if thats too low, and want to know if it can interfere with how much room is available inside of me for my organs in the abdominal area to be functioning properly. I really don't want to stop exercising , because I have a obsession, and feel lazy if I don't do it . I just want to know if I continue hula hooping , will it put me at any sort of danger if I continue losing additional inches? My measurements are also 30-20.5-31 im also 5'6" and 85lbs
The hula hoop? I bought this really heavy hoola hoop that is supposed to help you trim fat around your waist. Have any of your tried it and does it work? And how did you exercise with it and when did you see your results?
Is this a good exercising plan? Run for about 15-30mins. Bicycle for about 10-20mins. Ab workouts for about 5 mins. Video exercising for about 15-30mins. Weight hula-hoop exercise for about 10-20 mins. This is all done in one day. Sometimes I don't do one or two, is this a good plan? I do this for about 2-3 times a week. I want to lose about 10lbs. in 4-3 weeks. Any exercise I can add to this list, or change?
