Do you prefer updated, "politically correct" Christmas carols or the traditional lyrics? In church today, we sang "Good Christian Men, Rejoice" without the word "men" in it. Men, man, and mankind were taken out of all the Christmas songs. I've also noticed that (in "What Child is This?") the Child is "where ox and lamb are feeding" now instead of "ox and ass," that we're supposed to "bring him praise" instead of "laud," that we ask "and fit us for heaven" instead of "and take us to heaven" (in "Away in a Manger") and even some of the secular songs have been changed -- have you noticed the presents are now under the tree when you're home for Christmas? Anyway, I find these changes to be awkward and unnecessary, but I'm curious, what do you think? Many visitors attend churches around Christmastime. Do these song changes actually make them feel more comfortable?

I did that last year with me and my family. We called up friends and relatives on our cell phone and sang to them. writing a paper for ap need help with conclusion? hey so im almost done with this paper for ap english 11 about family traditions and i did mine on our family traditions during Christmas. my teacher liked everything but the conclusion so ive changed it to include a small quote from a christmas carol but now i dont kno how to finish it so heres what i have so far: “It’s the greatest time of year… with everybody here, friends so dear… it’s our favorite way to spend the holiday.” These lyrics, from the Christmas carol Greatest Time of Year, convey what Christmas is truly about. Does anyone know the title or full lyrics to this Christmas Lullaby? The words I remember go like this... "A child, a holy child, sleeping in a bed of hay... and all around there's no other sound but lullaby lulay..." and possibly ..."new life has now begun..." The song is not Coventry Carol - which does have some of the same words. I sang this song in my Junior High choir back in the late '80's and have been looking for the lyrics for over a decade. I think it came from a piece of sheet music, but when I ran into my old music teacher she couldn't recall it.
