What are some good tracks for kids to practice Christmas carols with? I'm leading a small children's group at my church in practicing for a Hanging of the Greens service and I'm looking for good practice versions of the songs "O, Come All Ye Faithful" and "Deck The Halls." During the service, the kids will be accompanied by a wonderful pianist at our church, but I need versions of those songs that will be good to practice with. All the ones that I've heard so far are either too complicated or too creepy. I'm looking for song tracks without synthesizing in the background and it's okay if the songs are karaoke or on a DVD instead of a CD. I'm not a musical genius, so it would be impossible for me to practice with them on the piano. I could do it acapella, but I think that would be tough on the children.

In my X-Mas FDNY party, I have to sing, and dance out at word.
Looking for a children's Christmas tape with comedy carols from the 90s? When I was young, I bought a cassette tape which I think was called Christmas is for Kids, but I cannot find it anywhere. It had comedy type carols on it. Some of the songs were "Chipmunk's Christmas", "Yingle Bells", "Monster Holiday", "Santa Caught a Cold on Christmas Eve", "I'm Getting Nothing for Questmas", and "Santa Claus is Stuck in the Chimney". Does anyone know the name of this tape or where I might find it? Thanks!

Looking for some Country Christmas songs? I'm looking for some ideas for some older country christmas songs. I'm not into Rascal Flatts or Taylor Swift, so please nothing new. I'm looking for songs from the 80s and back. I'm looking for songs that I grew up with; Here are some songs that might give you an idea of what I'm looking for - Old Toy Trains - The Statler Brothers Thank God For Kids - The Oak Ridge Boys The Christmas Guest - Reba McEntire Merry Christmas Polka - Jim Reeves Carols Those Kids Used To Sing - The Statler Brothers Thanks!
Christmas Mashups? does anybody know any good christmas song mashups? we need to find a number of christmas carols for a kids group but preferrably a mashup of 2 or more carols (the likes you would see in an episode of glee). not interested in a medley, we want mashups! i can't seem to find any online so if anyone has any ideas it would be much appreciated
Kid gets detention for singing Christmas Carols? I caught the tail end of this story today, on the news. I'm looking for more info. Some teenagers were singing Christmas Carols and handing out candy canes before school. The principal caught them and called the police. The school principal claimed the candy canes could be sucked into sharp instruments and used as weapons. At first, she claimed the kids were attacking people with sharpened candy canes. Then she changed it to simply singing Christmas Carols and handing out candy canes. The kids stated they were simply trying to spread some Christmas Cheer. This principal stated to the police, "Suicide is at a high during the winter. Perhaps people don't want or need holiday cheer." The kids weren't arrested, but, were given detention. That's all I know. But, I am appalled. Does anyone know more about this story? Where? Who? I want to write a story. All you haters. "Seeker of Holy God" and "Just Me" are 100% correct. The links they provided show this story. It happened, exactly as I described. I just didn't know where. My heart is sickened that this can happen in America.
Where can I make a customized cd cover? I want to send my mother-in-law a homemade CD we made of our kids singing christmas carols. I would like to put a picture of the kids on the front of the CD that says "Happy Holidays." I was wondering if anyone knows of a site that will do this professionally? I have found various sites that let you PRINT OUT a cover to glue on, but I was looking for something a little more professional looking. Please let me know! Thanks a lot
is it acceptable to walk into a Supermarket foyer to listen to preach about jesus? wtf, i go to a supermarket for messages not to listen to some muppet with a mike and a bible blabbering on at the top of his voice, if i wanted to listen to that stuff i would go to church, is the supermarket right to allow that sort of thing? to be honest it pissed me off and i walked out and went elsewhere. theirs a difference from kids singing Christmas carols and making some extra money to listening to that
How do I make this sound MORE professional? Opening gifts is probably the greatest part about Chirstmas. Around midnight the guests and family members gather up around the Christmas tree. The youngest children get to open thier presents first. When everyones done opening presents everyone thanks each other for the presents. Although the children who still believe in Santa wonder whats going on. Since all the presents are unwrapped theres a huge mess, so everyone pitches in to help. Later the adults sing Christmas Carols while the kids go off to play with their new toys.
What are your family traditions on Christmas eve/Christmas day with your children? I am wondering what everyone else does on Christmas Eve and Christmas day with thier children? Here is what we do: Christmas eve: Go to a candlelight christmas eve service at church Bake cookies and pies Leave some cookies and milk out for Santa, and carrots for his reindeer Read Christmas story books together Listen to Christmas Carols Let the kids open one present tonight Christmas Day: The children wake up early... usually around five to open their presents. We make a big dinner with turkey, ham, pies, and all the fixins. We eat with my mom, dad, brother, niece, and her children. I am always looking to add new traditions that will be memories for my children in years to come. I am wondering what traditions and special activities you do with your children tonight and tomorrow?
What weekend would be the best and the worst to see Jim Carrey's "A Christmas Carol"? I want to take my kids to see "A Christmas Carol" I now it opens on November 6. But I figured that will be too early to see a holiday movie just a week after Halloween. I would like to take them the day after Thanksgiving. Do you think that the movie theaters would be packed that day. Or should I wait till early December. When are you planning on seeing the film. I just don''t want to have it too crowded so we can enjoy the film. Thank you for your help.
Is it cheesy to give kids furniture as christmas gifts, but not their main presents? I finished my christmas shopping for my 12 and 13 year olds. They are getting a ds lite and lots of those little expensive gadgets. When they are wrapped up, they don't look like much. I miss the good old days of big cheap toys when they were younger. I was planning on remodelling their room including some bunk beds. They come in boxes that I would have to assemble. I was thinking maybe I could wrap them up as presents. they technically are for them. I could have them open them and here, "man... furniture." When they get through the 5 bigger furniture boxes, I could have them open their "real" presents. It would be kinda like in that christmas carol movie where the Red Ryder BB gun was hidden behind the tree.
A Christmas Carol 3D, 2009 - Too scary for kids? I'm rewarding my 8 y/o son tomorrow night for good behavior and grades lately, and he really wants to go to the theater... trouble is, there's not just a lot of movies out there at the moment... Has anyone seen this new Christmas Carol movie and are the rumors that it's 'too scary for children' true?
Im agnostic.. can I still celebrate Christmas? I know christians celebrate christmas. I live in the UK and during this season, every where you go its all bright colorful lights, tinsels, and christmas trees and carols. And it makes me feel cheerful and since its not often that I am cheerful i would like to be part of it for the december month. I enjoy the weeks where its coming to it where all the old christmas songs and the kids christmas movies are on and everyone has their house decorated. Is it weird that i want to celebrate chrismas when idon'tt follow christianity??
How should I make Christmas special for my kids in a hotel? All of my life I have always gone to my grandparents on Christmas eve & then done Christmas at home on Christmas morning, but this year me & my 2 children (7 & 11) will be going with my boyfriend to visit his family out of town. We aill be staying in a hotel & I am wanting ideas on how to make it special for my kids. Should I let them open a few gifts on Christmas Eve? Maybe bring a small tree & lights to put presents under to open Christmas morning? I know my boyfrind said we will go to his grandparenst on Christmas Eve sing carols, then go back Christmas morning to open gifts & we will be coming home on Christmas afternoon. Should I bring santa gifts to hotel, or leave them at home to let the kids open when we get home? I really don't know what to do, but want my kids to enjoy themselves. Also my kids only know my boyfriends immediate family (they will be there too) but have never met his grandparents, aunts & uncles on the side of family we will be seeing. I just really don't want my kids to feel like they are missing out, cause this is the first time we are doing things different on Christmas. Also any gift ideas for the extended family that I don't know really well?
Do most christmas-celebrating families make this assumptions? A few years ago I wouldn't even have bothered to wonder about this, but since having children and getting to know more parents this seems like a legitimate question to ask: Do you think that everyone who does not celebrate christmas, for whatever reason, automatically hates christmas and all things related? and, on another note, Do you think that every non-christmas celebrating family has children who desperately and secretly want to have a tree and christmas? or is it possible that some children do not care? A family from my children's soccer team organized a christmas extravaganza for the team and her children's classmates this saturday. We thanked her for the invitation. It said "christmas crafts, carols, cards and cookies, come as your favorite christmas character". It was a weird concept for us, a Jewish family who doesn't celebrate christmas in any way, but we are open to trying different things and if the children asked to go, we would send them and simply hope they wouldn't feel too left out when they discovered they don't have a favorite character or carol. But the kids decided that they didn't want to go. They didn't want to miss the Shabbat dinner we are having with their aunt and uncle who are visiting after a long time without seeing them. So I called the hostess to thank her for the invitation, wish them fun and inform her that the children wouldn't attend. It seemed like the polite thing to do. Her reply? "Its too bad you don't let the kids know more about christmas. Christmas is so much fun for the kids, even if the parents don't like it . What's the harm?" I think she's rude and crazy, and a while ago I might have assumed she was the exception, but I wonder, is that what everyone would assume? That my children are desperate to celebrate christmas and it is us mean, selfish parents who don't let them have it? and, the part about parents not liking christmas... Is that why you think we don't celebrate it? This just hasn't been my year with other parents. Between this and other non-holiday related things, I cannot love my child-free friends more but now I do. But this parent in particular really got me thinking. actually, those first two answers are very informative about people and christmas. Thank you, keep up the honesty and attitude, its educational.
What Are Your Favourite and Least Favourite Christmas Carols? I am trying to find songs to play in Christmas Day, and to get my family and myself in the mood. Please give me a suggestion list, your favourites and you least favourites (pleas don’t include any of my hates in your suggestion list). Here are my favourites: #5 – Jingle Bells. It is a classic carol. It is gorgeous. It is a shame, however, that there have been terrible versions of it. You know ‘Jingle Bells, Batman Smells’ and ‘Jingle Bells Rock’. They are two terrible remixes. #4 – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Lovely, lovely, lovely. It used to be on this little keyboard I had when I was younger. #3 – Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. Love it. Original Christmas Carol. Gorgeous, just gorgeous. #2 – Silent Night. It would be my favourite, but another song beat it. It is a gorgeous carol and a great way to get your kids asleep at night. It is so lovely, an simple. #1 – Away In A Manger. It is lovely. Just gorgeous, it is a beautiful version a Jesus’ birth in a song. Here are my least favourites: #5 – All I Want For Christmas Is My Two Front Teeth. It is a terrible song, and is encouraging kids to want to grow up. #4 – The 12 Days Of Christmas. That song just keeps going on and on and on. Why can’t it be The 3 Days Of Christmas, instead? #3 – Jingle Bells Rock. It is a terrible remix of a lovely Christmas carol. (Refer to #5 favourites). Why do people change songs? It is just a way of teaching kids violence. #2 – Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer. I love it, but it just goes on, when kids get it stuck in their head. #1 – Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. Again, I love it, but it just keeps repeating. Thanks. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
What are some of your favorite Christmas memories? (12/2009) I only want positive answers. For the past few years Christmases for me have just felt so different . . . maybe it's because I'm getting older. I'll be 21 next spring. But what are your favorite childhood Christmas memories? Mine are me and my older sister waking up on Christmas morning and trying to get my parents out of bed. We would go to my Grandparents' house and all my aunts and uncles and little cousins would be there and we'd have a big breakfast and there would be a huge mountain of presents in the living room. At my grandma's, we used to bake cookies with my aunt and decorate the tree and sing carols. They had these musical lights on the tree, and on the porch door there was a Santa that would go "ho ho ho, Merry Christmas" and play Jingle Bells every time you opened the door, and there was a singing Santa holding a list that would sing "Santa Clause is coming to town" when you clapped. My dad used to be a fireman so at the fire station there would be a kids Christmas party and we'd get to see Santa Clause. And I used to get so excited when we would put up our tree. I would wait and wait for my dad to finally go down in the cellar and bring up all the boxes. Christmases just aren't the same anymore. Yeah we still bake cookies and watch the specials on TV and decorate, but at my house it's always me who does the tree, lights, and everything because no one in my family has time. At least I found singing lights at Walgreens and I try to keep that old spirit alive. It's just not the same anymore because both my Grandparents are dead and we're all older now and they moved out of their old house years ago. I guess out of all that I said my favorite memory would be Christmas at my Grandma's house. I'll never forget when I was 5 1/2, I got this one gift and I was so excited I was jumping up and down. My aunt videoed it, lol. Also on Christmas eve my Uncle would pretend Rudolph was outside and he would go outside with a red light and shine it in the window and all of us kids went nuts. Also in 2001 my aunt who lives in Florida surprised us on Christmas Eve by coming home. I came downstairs and there she was. At least most of my childhood Christmases with Grandma and Grandpa are forever preserved on video and I can watch them anytime. Christmas isn't all about presents I know. It's about our Lord Jesus Christ and being together as a family. I hope one day I become a dad and I can have the same Christmases all over again with my kids.
R&P Christmas Carols/Songs? i need a christmas carol/song for ICT homework i dont want to get one that the other kids have so i was wonderin if there was any rock/emo carols/christmas songs any suggestions will be awesome!!! thnx
Does anyone else get very emotional at Christmas? For some reason I'm always emotional at Christmas. The slightest thing make me want to cry for eg looking at the Santa tracker and seeing him in China made want to cry, all the Christmas carols make me cry, watching the kids get excited makes me emotional. It's always been like this even as a child. Does anyone else feel like this? It's a happy cry not a very sad one. lol. Merry Christmas all!!!
Is it allowed for a school to sing Christmas Carols? My friend had an assembly at her school today called the "Yuletide Assembly" where, during the assembly, they were told to stand and had to sing Christmas Carols. One row of students didn't stand and one of the teachers just looked at the and said "Happy Hanukkah, kids." They clearly know that these students are not Christian, and I'm sure they weren't the only ones, but they were supposed to all stand, without question, and sing these very Christian-oriented carols. Has Separation of Church and State became null and void because of the Christian nutcases?
Christmas is only about 50 days away. What does Christmas mean to you? Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I would one day love to have a white Christmas. Christmas mean to mean Friends and family around. Kids especially open there present so excited. Seeing Santa, Christmas carols. Going to church & thank God for the thing that I have, other people don't. I just love this time of year, seeing house in all there lights and decoration. So What does Christmas mean to you?
Moms, honestly, how ready are you for Christmas to be over? I love Christmas. It is my favorite holiday. We have been lucky this year that we actually had enough money to get our daughters presents (especially our 6 year old who had some pretty specific wants). My 8 month old could care less, but just the same I got her quite a bit. The Christmas tree is up, the house is decorated, presents are mostly wrapped (just waiting on the Santa presents). We have Christmas carols playing, pies baking, and even though I'm loving the atmosphere, I can't wait for Christmas to be over. I went shopping with my best friend yesterday to get some last minute ingredients for pies and banana nut bread, well she needed to stop in the children's clothing section. Sure enough I came out with three more presents for my 6 year old! I can't tell you how many things I said no to. It's like something comes over me at Christmas where I would normally be able to put the toy, book, sweater, etc. back I just can't when it comes to Christmas shopping for my kids! Anyone else feel this way? How many of you are ready for Christmas to be over? How many of you want it to linger? I love how friendly most people become during this season. I don't want that to end!
christmas events/activities in Gold Coast Australia for small kids/families? As the title says....will be in the Gold Coast from 14 Dec onwards and am looking for Christmas activites and events for my 3 year old. Looking for Carols By Candlelight, Santa, Christmas lights etc Doesn{t really matter where as we will be going from Southport to Burleigh *and across to Robina Am interested in any other small kid activities/events. I know most people will say just relax on the beach or swim in the pool.....but although I am Australian we don`t live there - so I want to expose my daughter to as much Australian (western) culture as possible..and meet and talk with other Australian kids.
Which movie do you recommend? my moms work is having a christmas party at the theatres so the movie is free but these are the only choices, i don't really like them but i have to make a decision today, i don't know which movie to watch i saw the trailers but i still can't decide, which movie do you think is best for kids( 8 year old kids) Old Dogs- looks funny but it doesn't seem like it's for kids A Christmas Carol- looks good but alot of people told me it's scary, shocking for kids Fantastic Mr.Fox- not really into it but still give your opinion, who knows i might change my mind i was looking forward to old dogs at first but after watching the trailer and having a look at the story it doesn't seem like it's for kids so now i'm looking forward to a christmas carol but then again im not into it and alot of people told me that it might freak kids out
I need help for a Christmas Party?!? I'm a Sunday School teacher, and every year at our church there is a Christmas party. The Sunday School kids have to perform a number, we've done every thing from the nativity to singing Christmas carols and doing dances. We're stuck for ideas this year. We want it to be something different. Any ideas??
Do you feel the 'Christmas Spirit' this year? Personally, I don't. Each year Christmas seems to become downsized. When I think of Christmas, I think of snow, decorations outside of peoples houses, decorations in stores, Christmas caroling, people in Santa hats, Christmas songs in stores, Christmas songs on the radio, towns filled with Christmas lights, posters, hangings, whatever, Santa Clause walking around shopping malls, little kids excited over Christmas, TV shows and movies playing constantly on TV, commercials for Christmas, you know what I'm talking about right? It just seems that each year this becomes less and less., especially this year. To me it doesn't even feel like Christmas, this is supposed to be a happy, joyful time but it just feels like any other month or week through out the year. I'm not trying to be a downer but Christmas just isn't what it used to be. Am I crazy or does anyone else feel this?
Ideas for baby girl's first Christmas? We will be celebrating our first Christmas as parents this year, and our little girl will be 10 months old. Although she won't remember, her daddy and I will! And I want her to have a fun day! We have basically already finished most of her Christmas shopping so I am asking more about activities we can do during the Christmas season. With older kids, you can go caroling and bake together and make Christmas cards. What can you do as a family of 3 with a little one that is fun, memorable, and exciting?!
Who else hated the movie Barbie a Christmas Carol? I hated it on many main points. It's mainly because it was so different from the book. 1. Scrooge was a GUY not a woman. 2. Scrooge worked in the bank, while in the Barbie version she is an actress. Come on, they could at least made her the president of a bank or something. 3. Marley was Scrooge's partner who sent 3 spirits to visit him while in Barbie version, it's her aunt. They could have made it her singing partner instead. 4. And WHAT?! she didn't die in the future?! I mean come on! that's way off the book! She's supposed to realize how happy people are because of her death! I mean Scrooge realized that nobody gave a rip that he was dead and he didn't do anything in his life for others he decided to change. What's Barbie supposed to be? A pity party? My point? Worst Christmas Carol movie ever! It goes far off the book! If you want to see a movie fitting for kids watch Mickey's Christmas Carol or Muppet Christmas Carol. At least they stay kind of close to the book. I know it's supposed to be for little kids but it goes far off the book and if they just changed a little so that Barbie works in a bank, once had a singing partner, and somehow realizes that she needs to make a change because no one cares that she is dead. THANKS FOR KILLING ONE OF THE BEST DICKENS BOOKS EVER BARBIE!!!
Who is the actor in the old black and white Christmas Carol movie? This is for a gift for my mom, so I can't really ask her without being too obvious. This is an old movie that used to play on tv and she would watch it every year as a kid (she is in her 40's now). It's a black and white movie and she hasn't seen it for years. She absolutely loves it, but I can't find who the actor is who plays Scrooge to help me track it down. This is all the info that I know. Please help!
Are you flat broke but it's your best Christmas? Ok. My daughter just called me tears telling me that this is the best Christmas. She has 4 children and is recently divorced so her paycheck was just enough to pay the bills. The kids school got wind of her situation and decided to put her on their "Adopt this family for Christmas" list. Yesterday they gave her a big sack with diapers, toys for the kids, clothes and shoes. Today she got a call from two other organizations with donations for food baskets. About a month ago we had decided that for Christmas this year we would ignore the "commercial Christmas" gift giving rituals and focus on the Church services, take the kids to see the lights, sing Christmas carols around the tree, volunteer to take food to shut-ins, and stuff like that. After doing some of that stuff the stress is gone, and it is truly uplifting to see people smile because of our efforts. The kids say that they have never had so much fun and this is their best Christmas ever. Merry Christmas everyone!!
why do I keep crying over Christmas songs? This is really bugging me not to mention getting me down. The past fortnight up to Christmas I've been crying over Christmas song. Not carols or hymns or kids rhymes but the party pop songs. SUch as wish it could be Christmas everyday, elton johns step into Christmas, merry Christmas everyone, stop the calvery (spelling), the pogues, shakin stevens all of them!! I hear them on the radio or music channel and a minute or so in I burst into floods of tears sometimes wailing like a baby. I can't control it. It happens if I sing along or not. Soon as the song stops I calm down. I'm not pregnant, no medical hormone problem or mental health, its not pre menstrual and there's been no major event around this time of year to make me feel saddened, haven't lost anyone around Christmas and I don't miss anyone. I don't hate Christmas but when I'm crying that's how I feel. Anyone got any suggestions? I'm at my father in laws christmas day (we swap families every year) and I dont want to be in floods of tears for no apparent reason infront of my inlaws. If it helps I'm 25yr old mum of a 3yr old and 4yr old, who by the way are being extremely well behaved so Santa is bringing all they've asked for. I live with my husband to be. We're not wealthy but we're ok, not in trouble with money or housing or job or police or anything such. We have friends and family close, everyone is present for Christmas. THanks for your input!! Merry Christmas and happy new year x Hmmm the songs have never bothered me in such a way before. Every year until now I'd sing along all jolly and happy. I've always loved Christmas but not this year it seems.
Do you remember? I'm compiling a list of things that have changed since I was a kid.I thought it would be a fun list to hand out during family gatherings to inspire fun discussions! Feel free to add you own. If you remember most of these, you're old baby! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------
MOBO awards, why do we have awards for black music only, is it racist? We dont have any awards for white music only so why have the MOBOs? Where I live we have to make sure everything is equal, my kids dont sing christmas carols at school so that other religions aren't offended. Why then is it OK to have an awards ceremony for only music of black Origin? I dont personaly have a roblem with any race, hey we're all just people at the end of the day. However there is certainly a racial tension building around here and I honestly think the powers that be are to blame, its them who are imposing unrealistic rules about race!
In A Christmas Carol...What part could I get? (Details)? Yeah I auditioned for A Christmas Carol you know the sort about scrooge right and they told me i got a part but ikd what it could be. What do you think of my family? What do you think of my family? Hi. I am 30 (just turned 30 on Friday), and I have 2 kids that I have with my husband now. they are two beautiful boys, Jayden and Preston, they are 5 and 6. I also have a 13 year old daughter Hailey, but that is my Husbands daughter, im her step-mom. When she was 3 weeks her bio mom died, and it was just my husband and daughter until my daughter was 2. My husband is 39. Now all 3 of them get along together, VERY well. Hailey went online and looked up how to send Santa a letter and played games on Northpole.com with Jayden and Preston, She knows hes not real. She also said on Christmas eve they are watching 'Santa' on his radar (they do this every year). She bought Jayden a toy for no-reason, just because. On Friday she had a dance but chose not to go, to hang out with 'mommy', because its mommys birthday. My kids and husband bought me a 70" lcd tv, and spa kit and vanilla candles. On my birthday I cuddled with my children on my couch, Jayden sat on my lap, Preston and Hailey on each side me, we all shared a blanket and we talked about what we wanted for Christmas, what we are doing for mommy's birthday, how school is going, things like that. Then me and my husband cuddled for a while, while my children played the Wii karoke and go-Kart. my husband bought me a beautiful necklace and made reservations for all of us to my favorite resturant, we went out and ate. Then we went to the mall, I let Hailey take Preston and Jayden to a store by herself , Preston said he wanted to get something for me (I gave Hailey a 20$ bill), then Preston took Hailey and Jaydens hand and they all ran into the store, It was soo cute, My husband and I were laughing. They came back out with a pink teddy bear, pink furry coat, vanilla lotion and a santa hat. Then we went home and in the car my kids were saying "Mommy I love you soo much, happy birthday". Then my children took turns getting showers. Then we turned on 'A Christmas Carol' for the kids and they all cuddled up next to eachother on the floor. Meanwhile, my husband and I went to the hot-tub in our bathroom and locked the door, my husband bought me chocolate and wine, we turned on some music low and lit some candles and stayed in the hot-tub for a while. Then when we got out, our kids wanted to cuddle with us, so we went to bed. This is how we sleep everynight, either on the floor or in the king sized bed. If on the floor the kids sleep together and we sleep across from them. In bed, Jayden lays in between me and my husband, preston by my husband and Hailey by me. We fall asleep to Tv, movie, storytime, or mommy singing. Sometimes Hailey video records her Preston and Jayden 'singing' and puts it on Youtube, but puts it on unpublished, so only people with the link can view it. Hailey has mostly A's and a few B's. Preston has all A's. Jayden has A's and B's. Right now, my kids are listening to music. My husband and I sometime kiss (not makeout) infront of our kids. Sometimes we lay together and my kids fight over who gets to sit with us, its soo cute. Jayden is a mommas boy. Hailey is a mommas girl. Preston is independent but a daddys boy sometimes. I can't wait until Christmas! On Christmas eve I will be taking my children to go sing Christmas Carols around my mom (their grandma) neighborhood, and making cookies and eating dinner there. Then we will go back home and they will track 'santa'. I love my kids soo much!! What do you think of my kids?
to early to be excited for christmas? i love the feel of christmas time! I LOVE really cold early mornings and cold nights! I walked in my house tonight and was flooded by the smell of the air wick spiced apple candle, which is the christmas candle in my house,so i got a rush of excitement. Im bored of september,im bored of the start of year10. I had a crappy christmas last year, really terrible and the year before that. This year im very very excited! i cant wait till i get a cold;] i love that a christmas..on christmas eve when im sat at my dads house watching the celebrity pantomimes on BBC and all the christmas films especially when my dad takes me back to my mums and shes waiting for us ready to watched a christmas carol, and im not even kidding my favourite part is listening to christmas songs,i sing the same one all year round "are you hanging up your stocking on the wall!" i even do the full on "ITS CHRISTMASSSSSSSSSSSS!" ;] im so excited..like so excited,i cant wait to hear mariah carey on the radio and to drive through the snowy village where all the christmas lights are hung up. We normally walk up to the village shops at night and when we walk back we look through peoples windows, you know when they have there christmas trees up and candles lit and whatnot.i love that.. im just SOOO excited!
Survey about Christmas! Please answer? How many people are you giving gifts to? Do you send Christmas cards? If so do you hate doing them? Do you do a Christmas "letter" explaining what happened this year? Do have a stocking?( even if you don't have kids) Do you plan on celebrating Christmas? With who? Do you plan on "receiving gifts"? Do you have a pet? If so do you give it a present? Do you enjoy singing Christmas carols? How about Christmas movies? Do you have traditions on Christmas? What are they? And finally, What do you make for Christmas lunch/dinner? Do you make the same thing every year? Hope you have fun answering my survey! Merry Christmas! By the way.... ONLY 2 DAYS TILL CHRISTMAS! (tuesday and wednesday) I agree with you! Christmas letters are very annoying LOL!
How come Hanukkah isn't over-commercalized like Christmas? It isn't even Thanksgiving yet, and kids are still eating Halloween candy, but all that Christmas garbage is out at the stores, and carols are being played. But why do you never see as much Hanukkah related products and decorations as you do Christmas stuff? Like fancy menorahs and decorative items for the whole week, etc.
How to celebrate christmas? Please don't think my question is stupid , I am from India and we do not celebrate christmas. But my sister and me were talking about it and we thought it might be a good idea to arrange a christmas party for the kids of an orphanage near our house as we were too busy this year to organize one of the regular parties and they were disappointed. So, I want ideas on all the authentic christmas traditions and how we can customize them with what we have. Obviously, hiring a santa etc is not possible here but we would like to give them some presents and also i am going to try and bake a christmassy cake. What else can we do? What do you do on christmas? We want it to be as authentic as possible and try and have traditional things. The kids are about 5-15 in age and about 30 in numbers. I am sure none of them know much about christmas and making them sing carols etc is not possible.
teachers strike AGAIN? teachers are threating if no pay rise they wont hold sports day or christmas carols what a joke kids lose out in the end,get a life aussie teachers you get 12 weeks a year for holidays. You get paid to much as it is. who agrees?

Christmas and Easter. BOTH paramount for a Christian's faith? So why do we celebrate Christmas with so much more fanfare than Easter? Christmas celebrates Jesus Christ's birth, and Easter celebrates His death and resurrection. Why are there no Easter carols? Why don't people travel across country, or across the world, on Easter, or even Good Friday, to be with family? Why don't we give Easter presents (aside from little kids getting easter baskets with gifts, eggs, chocolates, etc. in them)? Does it have to do with how we celebrate and are joyous when a birth happens, and sad and mournful when a death happens? Jesus' death upon the Cross was not a sad death like you normally have happen to your friends and family. It was sad to see how he suffered and died, but the good news is that he's ALIVE. He defeated death, hell, and the devil! If anyone saw "The Passion of the Christ", you remember the scene with the devil getting angry after Jesus' death. The devil knew that Jesus was VICTORIOUS forevermore!!
Do Muslim converts from Christianity miss anything about Christmas? Singing carols in the snow, putting up the Xmas tree, mulled wine (presumably haram) - are all these things considered blasphemy to them? Do they enjoy looking at Christmas lights - or have to avert their eyes? My Muslim convert friend told me that a Santa character is not allowed because telling lies is haram (forbidden). So what is there that is fun (for kids) in Islam - or is is it all just fasting, prostrating and generally being depressive about every aspect of life?
I am in charge of having a family christmas party next year and I need some ideas.? There will be approx 50 adults and 40 kids. We are having it at a hall and it will be catered. I need any ideas that will make it special and fun. We are thinking about having a raffle but I don't want it to be a general one. Something fun and different. Any ideas will be much appreciated. Santa will show up and have a gifts for the kids. We are thinking about having all the kids sing some carols too. Please help. : )
What is a good Christmas Song? I need a good christmas song for a girlfriend and i to sing in church. We're teens so nothing for little kids, and i want something different than the normal carols or whatever! Like something really pretty with a story in it or something! One of my options is "Christmas Shoes" by newsong but i really would like more options!
Has anyone else lost the Christmas spirit? And do you know where I can find mine? I used to love Christmas. Everything became a miricale when people started putting up lights, and I started buying gifts for my kids. I couldn't wait to hear carols and watch cheesy holiday movies. This year, I don't really care about it all. Not one bit. I don't want to put up my tree, I don't want to buy my kids anything. I really hate going into the stores and hearing the music. WHats wrong with me? Does anyone else feel this way?
acting tips for a first time audition? i've never been in a play before. and i'm auditioning for a cratchit kid in a christmas carol. they didn't give me a script or an email address so i don't know what to expect! i'm so scared i won't learn my lines in time!!
Does anyone know about any used toy drives? My 5 yr. old son wants to give away some of his used toys to needy kids for Christmas. Does anyone know of any chirities that accept used, but in good condition, toys. I'm looking for something local. In the Dupage county area. Wheaton,Winfield,Carol Stream,Bloomingdale. Something like that Hopefully. Thanks alot. Oh ,also websites would help if you have them.
Where can I buy an old book published by Life? I had a book when I was a kid, called The Story of Christmas (I think). It had DaVinci's paintings, A Christmas Carol, The Gift of the Magi, beautiful illustrations and photographs, poems, stories, letters, and pictures for celebrations around the world. It was published by Life books. I would love to find this book (doesn't have to be perfect condition) and buy it to start a new family tradition with my children. Anyone have any ideas? I've searched ebay and google.
Where to spend an old fashioned Christmas? I'm looking for a place to go with my 2 kids (ages 9 and 10) to celebrate Christmas. I'm looking for somplace with holiday cheer, caroling, horse drawn sleigh ... like an old fashioned Christmas. Any suggestions? New England sounds wonderful but where in New England? I am currently in very far south Texas.
Does he like me? Opinion? This is an excerpt from a convo , what he said... do u think hes interested? Refresh my memory, did we meet last Christmas, when the kids were coming for carols, or am I hallucinating a random story? now that you mention it, I remember the piano and you too with it, dressed up and smiling prettily. I was in the back raising hell with the bassplayer r (the rambunctious rhythm section), perhaps that's why you missed me. You weren't present at last week's big shindig though. Did you know about it? It is the truth, you do seem to have that radiant curl of the lips :-) you definitely need to come down to the party, it's going to be off the hook. no-holds-barred fun is guaranteed.
Whats the one thing you hate about Christmas? Well...not hate, but the thing that you just really dont like....ok, HATE!! there is always something that everyone doesnt like. The buying, the lunch, the relitives, the kids going psyco etc.... for me...I love all of that stuff but its those stupid Christmas Carols that plays over the shops PA system! it drives me nuts because its the same tune every year! so whats that one thing at christmas that you least enjoy? and here in Australia, we get those Hamper ads from this company called Chrisco (America may have them too). There is this lady known as 'the Chrisco Lady' by everyone who presents her 3 minute ads about all the hamper options and 'how much better christmas is with a hamper'.....I dont like those hamper ads either!
What do your kids think of the fact that Christmas has a long and checkered history? Your kids might celebrate Christmas their entire lives without thinking about the history behind 1)Christmas caroling, decorating trees, shopping, music and all of the other things we do at Christmas. take some time to search the Internet and read about your favorite Christmas customs and traditions and read about the history behind them, and how they came into existence/.
Why so many bad words in Christmas carols? I'm not trying to stir up debate or anything but I'm not a kid anymore and I wonder why there are so many bad words in Christmas carols. I thought Christmas was supposed to be about all kinds of good things and gifts so I'm not sure why the songs say bad things. I realize there may not be an answer. I am only curious.
Who knows if Christmas was celebrated LONG before the birth of Jesus Christ & where did it come from? We do the wonderful things we do at Christmas time(decorating trees,Christmas caroling,Black Friday shopping,Posting Christmas questions on Yahoo Answers, watching Christmas movies, musicals and programs on TV,decorating our houses, tell our kids about me(Santa) and all of the wonderful things we do at Christmas. But Have you ever wondered as a kids why do we do so and so? What keeps Christmas going? It is not found in the bible.
Is it appropriate sing Christmas carols outside of our neighbor's house tonight? You see, I've noticed that even though the calendar says it's February 12, my neighbor's have turned on their Christmas lights again tonight. I understand wanting to keep the Christmas spirit alive, but according to my calendar, Christmas was around 50 days ago. I thought they were going to take them down yesterday, but they just spent a few hours outside playing with their kids. So, I know they're not sick. We do have an ordinance here requiring that all lights be taken down by January 15, and although I'm not exactly friendly with my neighbors, I don't want to get them in trouble. I just want to get the point across. So, my question is: Should I gather a few of my friends and sing Christmas carols on the sidewalk in front of their home?
german christmas carols? there is a german christmas carol that i used to sing, but i cant remember how it goes. its about the kid's toys making noises and things....... its driving me nuts! any idea what song it could be?
can you answer my Disney Christmas Carol question? In trailers they say some scary images may scare kids. What do they mean? I know that the future spirit is a little creepy. And it's a little dark when they visit the dealer and the graveyard, etc. But do they mean scary as in murder, violence, blood and gore? Or as in dark creepy images?
Have you ever pondered some of the crazy lyrics of Christmas Carols? From Up on the Housetop: Ho, Ho, Ho, Who Wouldn't Go? Who wouldn't Go Where? From It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year They'll be scary ghost stories and tales of the glories of Christmases long ago Who tells ghost stories at Christmas time? From Here Comes Santa Claus: He doesn't care if you're rich or poor cause he loves you just the same. Now if that is true, how come rich kids get more presents? And maybe the craziest of all.... From Walking in A Winter Wonderland In the meadow we can build a snowman and then pretend that he is Parson Brown. Who the heck is Parson Brown? And it gets weirder.... We'll have lots of fun with Mr. Snowman until the alligators knock him down. Now last time I checked alligators don't tend to hang around a Winter Wonderland.
What are some christmas activities that I can do with my kids? They broke up on Friday and since then we have been baking gingerbread men and cookies, making christmas cards, christmas tree decorations, paper chains and playing board games all day long. We have decorated the christmas tree, written letters to Santa, sung carols and danced to christmas songs. We have been to a couple of christmas events, like lights being turned on. My husband works fulltime and the kids are getting bored as I have run out of ideas! I can't go out much as I have a 12 day old baby. My other kids are 3 and twin 6 year olds. Thanks x
Non-Christians who like Christmas..How to raise kids? My husband and I both grew up in homes that celebrate Christmas. Neither one of us are Christian and my husband actually converted to Islam in college. Despite this, we both enjoy the tree, carols, and gift giving with family around the holidays. We do not have children yet, but I am concerned about how to raise them when we do given our spiritual beliefs while our families still celebrate Christmas. I have always wanted to begin traditions of Kwanza, but wonder if it will be the same and believe it will still be difficult when extended family does Christmas...any suggestions?
That Christmas carol, "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas"? what does "Every mother's child will be awake to see if reindeer really know how to fly" mean? Does that mean if a kid's mother died or took off on them, they won't be awake? What about the father's children? This Christmas carols don't make any sense at all! (And I'm really sick of having this one stuck in my head)
Misheard Christmas Lyrics? No one can fracture a Christmas carol better than a kid. Sing along with these new takes on old favorites: - Olive, the other reindeer. - Frosty the Snowman is a ferret elf, I say - Sleep in heavenly peas - In the meadow we can build a snowman, Then pretend that he is sparse and brown - You'll go down in listerine - Oh, what fun it is to ride with one horse, soap and hay - Come, froggy faithful - You'll tell Carol, "Be a skunk, I require" - Good tidings we bring to you and your kid
Where can i find this christmas song? It starts something like this ,"more than candy canes or christmas cards or caroling out doors more than shopping malls or decked out halls or shiny lit up stores........long ago he came to show the world a brand new way .......let him be our hope today."I think i'ts a kids song probably kids sung it too,i dont know but i really want to find the lyrics.
Which is your favorite Christmas Carol / Christmas song? By the way, Merry Christmas to you all! My favorite carol is "Away in a Manger", but I love 'Rudolph, the Red-Nosed Reindeer', too, and lately, 'Grandma Got Runover by a Reindeer', is big in my household, my 3 little rugrat kids like that one.....
In the Christmas Carol: what did Scrooge learn at this scenes? We have a test tomorrow and I really need help. #1 - Scrooge alone at school #2 - Fan coming to take Scrooge home #3 - Bell brakes of the engagement #4 - Bell wither her family (kids and husband) #5 - Fezziwig's party p.s Sparknotes doesn't tell you. whats your favorite christmas movie? now and from when you were a kid? mine was: The Muppet's christmas carol & The nutcracker prince NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS is my fave xmas movie now :D havent seen national lampoon xmas vaction, ill have to see it
I cant remember the end part of this rude Christmas carol? A friend and I was talking about the alternative carols we used to sing as kids but have one which we can not rememeber the end too. It starts like this Star of wonder, star of light, jesus caught his pants alight Started Screaming, hit the ceiling And then we cant remember any more
What Christmas Carol Are You? mine is "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" Then I saw mommy tickle santa claus Underneath his beard so snowy white Oh, what a laugh it would have been If daddy had only seen Mommy kissing santa claus last night At Christmas, you feel like a kid again Complete with major Christmas eve insomnia http://www.blogthings.com/whatchristmascarolareyouquiz/
Why are the equipment and rules differ so much from league to league? AAU has theirs. USAKF, WUKO. PUKO. ISKF, AKL/PKL. JKA and so many others. Why is there no formity at all with competitions and gear. USAKF you wear cloth gloves and no shoe padding.(at least when I fought in the 90's) and AKL makes you look like a padded foam toy like that poor kid in a Christmas Carol who gets wrapped up so tight in his winter clothes he cannot unrun the bullies. What would you suggest as the best set of gear and rules for kumite competitions that are amateur not like Cage or UFC style which is a whole differant ball of wax.

Who uses this word anymore? Outside of a Christmas carol, when is the last time you said "hark"? As in, "Hark, here comes the darn hippo that the neighbors bought their kids last Christmas!" Is it time to bring back "hark"?
Merry Christmas, what do you take for granted??????/? sometimes, I take for granted I have a day job, and get to come home in time for my kids,,,,,,,,and spend all night with them, and do what ever, make cookies, decorate the tree, sing carols, today we watched How The Grinch Stole Christmas, and THEN,,,,,,, IT'S ON CBS,,,,,,,,,, my kids looked at me, I looked at them and we just laughed because we payed for two late fees, because the night before we tried to watch it and we fell asleep,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,and we could have watched it for free
are these funny they are for the kids on here? Little Johnny wasn't getting good marks in school. One day he surprised the teacher with an announcement. He tapped her on the shoulder and said, "I don't want to scare you, but my daddy says if I don't start getting better grades, somebody is going to get a spanking!" "Isn't the principal a dummy!" said a boy to a girl. "Well, do you know who I am?" asked the girl. "No." replied the boy. "I'm the principal's daughter." said the girl. "And do you know who I am?" asked the boy. "No," she replied. "Thank goodness!" said the boy with a sign of relief. A man in a hurry taking his eight-year-old son to school made a turn at a red light where it was prohibited. "Uh-oh, I think I just made an illegal turn!" the man said. "It's okay, Dad," the boy said, "The police car right behind us did the same thing." A teacher in Atlanta asked her students to write the words to their favorite Christmas Carols. She probably got fired for mentioning Christmas in school. Anyway here are some of the humorous lines she received: Deck the Halls with Buddy Holly We three kings of porridge and tar On the first day of Christmas my tulip gave to me Later on we'll perspire, as we dream by the fire. He's makin a list, chicken and rice. Noel. Noel, Barney's the king of Israel. With the jelly toast proclaim Olive, the other reindeer. (all of the other reindeer) Frosty the Snowman is a ferret elf, I say Sleep in heavenly peas In the meadow we can build a snowman, Then pretend that he is sparse and brown You'll go down in listerine Oh, what fun it is to ride with one horse, soap and hay O come, froggy faithful You'll tell Carol, "Be a skunk, I require"
A new Christmas carol? I'm creaming on a white Lexus, Just like the one I used to own. It belongs to my ex wife, who filled my life with much strife, and made me want to shoot her dead. I'm creaming on a white Lexus, with every alimony check I write. May I find some woman who's bright, who won't dump me for some biker dyke. Just kidding ;)
Need help with some Christmas party ideas for next year.? I am in charge of having a family christmas party next year and I need some ideas.? There will be approx 50 adults and 40 kids. Something fun and different. Any ideas will be much appreciated. Santa will show up and have a gifts for the kids. We are thinking about having all the kids sing some carols too. Please help. : )
What do you think about the hype? I saw on the local news that they're trying to poll whether or not Santa should stay fat or if he should become skinny to be more of a role-model to little kids. I love Santa the way he is, and they would have to rewrite ALOT of Christmas Carols and Stories!! So, what do you think?
Do you ever wish you were of a different ethnicity? I don't like the type of conclusions people reach about me when they categorize me as Hispanic. Often they assume I'm Catholic, socially conservative, patriotic. Especially now that my first son is soon to arrive, I find myself wanting to disabuse people close to me of those notions. I don't want my kid showered with Christian paraphernalia, like "thanks heaven for little boys" t-shirts, etc. I wish I were Jewish! I am not a religious person at all, but I do have a stronger affinity for klezmer music than for Christmas carols, and I actually have an enormous degree of admiration for very many Jewish intellectuals. If only I were ethnically Jewish--so goes my daydream--I would avoid all sorts of uncomfortable situations, particularly with my family in law. I don't wish to convert to a religion. (I'm not religious at all.) I'm asking whether people have ever wished to be of a different *ethnicity*, for one reason or another.
Best Christmas movie? What do you think is THE most quintessential and famous Christmas movie of all time: It's A Wonderful Life, A Christmas Carol, or A Christmas Story ("You'll shoot your eye out, kid!")?
Favorite thing during Christmas season? I love the Christmas Nativity plays. I have so many wonderful memories of making costumes, gluing hundreds of chicken feathers to little angel wings, singing carols with the kids hundreds of times to practice, etc. I just love the Nativity plays and helping the children with them. I love decorating. I love the sewing and crafting of ornaments. I love cutting evergreens and making swags and wreaths. I love wrapping presents and making pretty bows and ingenious gift tags. I love visiting the nursing home and spending time with the residents. I especially love taking the kids to carol there. I do not really love baking, but some people do. Shopping is ok, but not that exciting. What is everyone else's favorite holiday activity?

Are Christmas decorations coming out EVEN earlier? When I was a kid (70's-80's) it was Thanksgiving before the stores started to carry Christman stuff. My mom liked to put our tree up ON turkey day and had to use leftovers bought after the holidays each year. I was at the mall tonight and the Christmas stuff is already out and carols were playing. It's 80 degrees outside and Halloween isn't even over. If I had to buy a costume tonight, I'd have to go as Santa Claus. What's the deal? To answer y'all's questions: I live in Austin, Texas. It's patently silly to sell ANYTHING having to do with winter until December. And my mom's tree was fake...still is.
Why DO NEOCONS beat Liberals up when we Christmas carol? Co-dependent Christmas Carol? To tune of "Let it snow! Let it snow! Let it snow!"? When your kids are already griping, and your sanity they're swiping, and your spirits are really low, Let it go ,let it go, let it go. When your boss is so overbearing, and you find you're way past caring, before you just let it blow, Let it go, let it go, let it go. When you feel like you're on a wave, And you're either way up or way down, If you wonder what normal is, Just take a good look around. For everyone's got a problem, and there ain't no way to dodge 'em. so instead of you gettin' low, Let it go, let it go, let it go. All the energy you've been wastin' When you try anticipatin' You can give it to God you know, Let it go, let it go, let it go. Are you planning a Merry Christmas this year???
As a Christian, what festive activities did YOU do over Christmas..??? Me and my husband have just been talking about what we did over Christmas and discovered that we did absolutely nothing what so ever that was all that festive. For example, we have 2 young kids at school and not one of them did an activity play regarding Christmas. There were no carol singers anywhere and also it seems that nobody went to church either!! Can you please tell me where the hell the meaning of Christmas has gone??
