How do you make a song or video clip sound chipmunk like?

You know how on You Tube they have like video clips or songs chipmunk style? How do you do that? I really want to know.

1. you have to get some sort of music editing thing that can make the playback speed faster. for whatever reason when it plays faster, everythings higher pitched and sound "chipmunk-ey"
2. try speeding up the clip/sound file! example: open a sound file in windows sound recorder (make sure its .wav) then increase the speed (effects) and it will sound chipmunk style!!! hope this helps
