How to make a song like a chipmunk song WITHOUT speeding it up?

1. umm you can sing the song in a high pitched voice like a chipmunk

3. Select the song in audacity and go to effects > change pitch. this will make the song have a higher pitch but keep the speed the same.

5. rather then changing the speed of the voice, just changed the octave it is spoken at. if you play it at a higher octave, you'll get that 'chipmunk' sound. That's how they did it in the "Alvin and the Chipmunks" movie coming out.

7. to make a chipmunk song using that program just upload the song then highlight it and then click on effect then speed and change it to 33.896 then go back to effect and click on picth and change that to 33.689 then u can listen 2 it
