Does anyone know how to get rid of chipmunks - they are destroying my front yard, especially my annuals?

they dig holes everywhere. I am at my wits end. please help.

1. A bullet to the head should do it. They won't feel a thing.
2. there's a commercial for a hardware store where they talk about squirrels in the yard. i think its Ace or TrueValue. Chances are you need some type of repellent. go to a place that sells stuff like this and ask. they'll tell you what the best types are and such.
3. Start writing songs for them to sing
4. Rat traps baited with peanut butter. A quick merciful death is much better than tapping an releasing someplace strange. They will die there anyway. Poison sucks. It ain't quick. But it does work. If you wan to use poison get a "T" tube so other animals don't get in the bait.
5. Call me crazy but I have learned to live with nature and the critters there have been times when the critters have given me many enjoyable hours of pleasure. They might be a pest and a nusiance...It's like trying to to get past the dandelions in the yard, once you understand the benefits you appreciate them. Why not put a critter feeder box down they'd be busy eating. Dandelions can be beneficial to a garden ecosystem as well as to human health. http://www.pesticide.org/dandelions.html
6. You might get two "mouser" cats. Cats can be very good rodent control. Trapps will take a lot longer.
