Best electronic pest control?

My roommate and I have been having a bit of a problem with pests as of late. We really want to try those electronic plug-in pest repellers, but we have pets. There's a bird, a rabbit, a cat, and a dog. Is there something we can use that'll be safe to use alongside them? A lot of the electronic ones promise to keep birds away, and I don't want to hurt/bother my own bird! Thanks!

  1. get one that has adjustable frequency, tune to higher frequency that beyond your pets hearing bird (parakeet) can hear 200Hz to 8.5KHz rabbit 360Hz to 42KHz cat can hear up to 64KHz dog up to 45KHz tune to, say 70KHz, so you can get rid of the mouse which can hear up to 85KHz.
  2. I would not recommend anything electronic for pest control. What specific pest are you trying to get rid of? I work with my father who owns his own pest control business and has been doing pest control for 40 years. There have been cases where roach nests have been found INSIDE the actual devices. And as for mice, they will get used to the electronic waves, and come right back. There are other alternatives. I'm assuming you are talking about either Mice or Roaches so I will give you some treatment options for both. Mice - If you're afraid of pets getting into the poison, there are bait stations you can purchase that lock, and only the mice and/or rats can get inside, eat the bait, and then leave. The best poisons are Ditrac, Final Blox or Contrac rodent bait. There are also live catch traps. Which are mouse/rat traps that trap the rodent, without killing it. So if your pet gets near, it wont harm them at all. You have to dispose of the rodent yourself, though. You can also use a snap trap inside of a bait station. Roaches - The most effective treatment that we have found is the combination of baits and sprays. Maxforce bait gel works WONDERS! the more roaches present, the faster it works. Use the maxforce in your kitchen and bathroom, in the cracks and crevices inside of cabinets and drawers, so as not to allow your pets access to the poison. Any kind of spray will do. Allpest Superkill works very well. The pets need to be out of the house while treating, and can come back in 2 hours (or after the spray is dry). Once the spray dries, it will not harm your pets. Hope I helped! I included two links to a website you can purchase pest control supplies online. One for roaches and one for rodents. Happy Hunting!
