Electronic Sonar Pest Control?

Has anyone tried those electronic gadgets that emit high pitched tones to get rid of pests such as mice, roaches, etc? Just wondering if they really work???

1. tried them, and they are a waste of money. they never worked for me.
2. I had a huge spider problem. I bought these and they really do seem to work. I no longer have spiders/webs on my garage light switch.
3. I have never tried it because I am so skeptical that I would rather use something that I know works for sure.
4. I have. It didn't work...of course, it turned out that the vermin was actually the gerbil that had escaped from my neighbor's house a year earlier. It might be that the pitch is calibrated to not bother pets...including stray gerbils. Imagine my horror when we finally gave in and got a mouse trap and found that our "rat" was a gerbil! And even worse, when, a few weeks later, we found out that the kid across the street had lost his, not long before our cat noticed him...:(
