how long can I wait to call pest control?

I see termite droppings in my room. I am going to have surgery and I can't call the pest control for one month. how long can I wait before the termites cause damage? thank you.

1. Well if you want to prevent further damage then you need to ask someone to let the pest control in for you BTW by the time you spot them the damage is already well established so guess maybe it might not make much difference after all An article for you to read
2. curious to what part of the country you are in...most parts the termite species will not have "droppings" . Either way though they will not do any more substantial damage in a months time, not knowing how long they may have been in the structure to begin with there will be no way to know what sort of damage is already there.
3. Sounds more like carpenter ants than termites.
