help! i need to know the name of this 80s movie?

its a animated film with brightly colored puppies that can talk to people. (its not pound puppies) there is a boy and girl puppy that get taken into homes by two young kids. they are trying to get back to this golden door to get home. i remember a bicycle ride/chase. i know this is pretty obscure, but i never got to finish the movie as a kid, and im dying to see it in its entirety! the animation is similar to that of "the chipmunk adventure". thanks for you help!

1. Im not sure if I'm even close but the only two movies I can think of is either All Dogs Go To Heaven (which I think there are 2 sequels of) and then there is Homeward bound. Try doing a search on major key words or look around in netflix
