What should I name two chipmunks...?

I'm writing a children's story about two chipmunks who are looking for adventures, and for some reason I am hung up on what to name them. I tentatively called them Twig and Acorn, although that seems corny. Should I stick with those names, or does anyone have any suggestions? And I know that Chip & Dale and Alvin, Simon, & Theodore are taken. :)

1. How about names that would give a clue to their personalities or traits in the story? Something like Chatter and Sniffle?

3. I would name them Dean and Marylou in honor of the 50th anniversary of Jack Kerouac's On the Road. Pax - C
4. You could work with odd name combinations like Whiskers and Bob, or Ajax and Zero, or Fuzzy and Zeus.
