How to fix my speakers? The sound is too fast, like I'm listening to the Chipmunks.?

The harman/kardon speakers on my computer have started sounding like the chipmunks no matter what I play - youtube video, yahoo radio, cd, etc. How can I adjust the settings so the sound isn't so high pitched and fast? We have windows vista operating system

1. Sounds like your sound card is going out and you need a new sound card.
2. If you have vista, I would say it's probably not hardware failure seeing as how vista is fairly new. The main problem that vista has is driver issues. I would go to the manufacturer of your sound card online, or go to the company that you bought your computer from, they often will have the newest drivers as well. Vista has many driver issues, because drivers need to be changed in some ways to function correctly with Vista. So I would say it's probably a driver issue. Although, as others have mentioned, it COULD be hardware failure, but I wouldn't suspect that right away seeing as how it's going to be a fairly new computer. Especially if you upgraded from XP to Vista, I would definitely consider looking for the newest drivers.
