Can't get rid of centipedes. What to do?

Everyday I always see 2 or 3 dead centipedes on my kitchen and front door entrance, both with pergo floors. I bought 2 electronic pest control repeller and sprayed Raid Houshold Insecticide inside and outside the front door and sliding doors near the kitchen. I still see 3-5 centipedes, some really small some about an inch. Some crawling but most of them dead. Is it time to call an exterminator? Is it because of the weather? Some plants outside my house?

  4. Take a mixture of laundry soap and water and put it in a sprayer and spray it on the underside of the leaves. That should work.

  6. DON'T GET RID OF THE CENTIPEDES!!! THEY ARE GOOD! THEY WILL KILL *ANY* OTHER BUG THAT COMES INTO YOUR HOME AND ALTHOUGH THEY ARE CREEPY AS HELL, THEY ARE RELATIVELY HARMLESS. WE HAD A CENTIPEDE PROBLEM AS WELL THIS LAST WINTER. WE USED COCKROACH FOGGERS (BOMBS) IN OUR HOME AND STOPPED SEEING THEM. HOWEVER, NOW WE ARE SEEING ALL TYPES OF OTHER BUGS (SPIDERS, LADYBUGS AND WORST OF ALL -EWWWWW- COCKROACHES!!!!) CENTIPEDES ARE SUPPOSED TO PREFER EATING COCKROACHES. I AM ALMOST UPSET WE KILLED ALL THE CENTIPEDES IN OUR HOME BECAUSE UP UNTIL WINTER WHEN ALL THE OTHER BUGS DIE OUT, THE CENTIPEDES HAD NEVER EVEN SHOWED THEMSELVES. THEY DIDN'T EVEN COME OUT IN THE OPEN UNTIL THE HAD NOTHING TO EAT. AND WE NEVER SAW ***ANY*** OTHER BUGS WHILE WE DID HAVE CENTIPEDES. SO IF YOU DO GET RID OF THESE LITTLE CRITTERS, JUST BE PREPARED TO DEAL WITH ALL THE OTHER BUGS THAT WILL NOT BE NATURALLY ELIMINATED BY THE CENTIPEDE.
  7. Eeeek!!!! I hate 'em! Raid Household spray isn't strong enough for centipedes. I have them too and they are beasts!!!!! They’re fast as lightening and they are fearless. I got bit by one too; that was real fun. You need to make it a priority to get rid of these things because they do bite and they are venomous (not like a rattlesnake, but venom is never a good thing). Not to scare you, but if you are allergic/sensitive to bites and stings, you want to be extra careful…and if you have kids. I heard from many different sources that Demon WP, Talstar & Perma-Guard are the best insecticides for these things. I bought some WP and I'm putting it down this weekend. It's not expensive. Try one of these (I recommend the first two, more so). You can get some good information about these products online. Good luck! :-) P.S. They like dampness, so keep your home dry. Also keep your place CLUTTER-FREE so they have nowhere to hide! It also helps to know that these aren’t actually insects. I forget what they’re called, but knowing they’re not insects should lead you AWAY from typical bug sprays because they don’t really work unless it’s on the spot. You want to get to all of them and prevent entry into your home; therefore, you need something specifically for centipedes. Hope I’ve helped some.
