Can chipmunks destroy your yard?

I've been finding small lines of hills resembling burrows (i'm assuming). I have seen chipmunks in the yard, but can they destroy the yard?

1. ohhhh yeah. those little fellows almost killed my side yard.
2. worse then moles, they like flower bulbs
3. Chipmunks can be the worse critters to find in your yard.
4. Small lines of hills sounds more like moles or voles and whichever, or chipmunks can be destructive. They are great chewers of roots.
