Any special instructions for when Orkin comes to spray your home?
Orkin pest control company is coming out to my house tomorrow to spray for bugs but then didn't tell me anything special that i needed to do so i'm wondering does anyone know of anything i should do before they get here like take everything out of my cabinets and drawers? I kinda hope not cause i have a 2 yr old and he'll be into everything. Someone please let me know though if you've used Orkin. Thanks. They said the chemical they use is kid and animal friendly. I plan on leaving my house for a full day after anyways.

- If you have a two year old, you should NOT be spraying the inside of your house!!! No matter what kind of pests you have, there are more natural ways to cope with them than exposing you child to POISON!!! I breed dogs, and have three times had buyers call me in tears because their dog died after having the house or yard sprayed. Any kind of insecticide is a neurotoxin! Please don't expose your baby to that!!! . .
- Since you didn't say what pest(s) they are targeting or how they are disseminating the product, it's impossible to tell what kind of precautions should be taken. A licensed and trained exterminator will generally not apply any product in a small child's room, except for enclosed traps which are harmless to human beings (and most spray applications are also harmless to humans and large pets), but it is ultimately up to the parents to keep pets and small children away from areas so exposed. Of course, if you're *trying* to eliminate "rug rats" . . . ;)
- I've been told that you do not have to remove everything. This was by an exterminator. Our apartment complex has this done a few times a year. There is no odor at all. I usually open all doors and windows once they finish spraying. In fact we didn't have to leave the place unless we wanted too.
- I work for Orkin, Here is the deal they will use eco friendly baits and gels. The reason they didnt give you any special instructions is that they really do a good job and you your kids or your animals are safe and sound. The things the tech will use will be tasty to the insects and they will take it back to the nest and share. Bye bye bugs. If you have any questions just email me at edmay@usa.net
- stay out of their way and let them do their job if you have any ?????? ask when they get there than get out of the way
