What animation software was used for the Chipmunk Adventure (1987)?

What animation software was used for the Chipmunk Adventure Movie? Pretty much what the title says. I want to know what animation software was used for the Chipmunk Adventure. It doesn't have to be the exact software, but something similar would be nice. Thank you to anyone who answers! I would prefer a program on the cheap side and I will only use an expensive program as a last resort. Links appreciated!
