Need a humane way to get chipmunks out of my house?
I have an older house. The chipmunks that use our bird and squirrel feeders at the outskirts of our yard have made tunnels and moved in to my basement. I need to get them out but DO NOT believe in poison and other inhumane methods to get rid of them. Cannot afford to buy live traps or hire professionals. Any helpful advice or tips to get them to move out?

- well one live trap is necessary first you have to go around and find any hole that they are using or might use to get in and stuff them with steel wool - they won't chew it - it bothers their teeth then take away their food/water source ( the birds wont mind being fed and watered high up in a tree - ground squirrels don't climb) then the trap come into play trap them in your basement and take them for a ride to the park to be released - don't worry about family ties - they don't have them - if one is big enough to catch it is big enough to be away from mamma - only the nestlings need her and she wont leave them cause they can't leave the nest they won't move out on their own - they like the living arrangements - your gonna have to evict them before they start chewing on the electric wiring - gets costly quick
