Gardening- Natural pest control by PBS fund raiser ad?

Does anyone know the name of the man who was on PBS TV advertising a natural way to control garden pest using a natural formula consisting of dish soap, mouth wash, tobacco juice, etc.? He was part of PBS fund raising several times but I have not seen him in the past year or two
