How much does it cost for professional residential pest control?

Just wondering in the UK, how much does it generally cost to have a pest control company (eg Rentokil) to visit you and remove an infestation? My girfriend keeps getting bitten by something (fleas/ bedbugs) at home and I am considering paying for professional help!

  1. Ring your council - they may offer something for FREE!!! There are also flea sprays on the market. Wash all your bed linen at 60 deg. spray all the carpets especially in the corners where the vac can't get.
  2. Tommzz; As Sandman suggests; Ye local council may well provide a free or low priced service. More and more seem to be asking at least the bottom prices that local professionals would ask. It also may depend on the pest / situation. But, sure; Ring them. Had ye provided some more information, it's entirely possible that myself, or any of my fellow professionals who pass through here, could have gained a better idea of what's bothering ye girlfriend. As it is though, let's suppose it's fleas. Council may well treat those for free / low price. The only issue being their work load and priority's. Ask them. Regards a private professional? Sure. Check Google for your town. " Pest Control ". Only, for pities sake Ignore all the flashing adverts for the big, household names! (Trust me on this) Just check out a few small, local outfits. Look for guys with membership to a pertinent trade association. Get quotes from one or two without too. The price range should be close, all round. Go with the one ye feel easiest with ~ The person. Not the price. Assuming it's domestic fleas? Expect something either side of fifty quid. The chap should turn up with a pressure sprayer and ask ye girlfriend to go out for an hour or two. Bob's yer Uncle. IF it should be Bed Bugs ~ a growing problem in UK, now that foreign travel, especially 'Back Packing' is so popular ~ then, well; That's beyond my personal scope. I wouldn't want a Bed Bug job. It'd likely cost her the mattress, to start with. Then it's a Really intensive job to eradicate them. Costed accordingly. Bright side is though; The council should certainly be willing to come round and do That work. So, again, it'd be free, or certainly cheaper ;-)
