How do you get rid of chipmunks around the house/garage?

Traps are too much trouble to keep emptying, I want them dead and I aint afraid of right to lifers! They are ruining my shrubs and plants with the holes they burrow and expose the roots of the plants and the plants die. THere are dozens! Cant have a cat.

4. I hear one way to keep deer out of gardens is to scatter big cat scat around and the odor deters the deer. It seems like it would work for chipmunks.
5. We just killed 23 in two weeks using four "TomCat"? or "BobCat"? brand traps. that we got from Lowes. No bait needed - just pinch to set, place ACROSS the path directly in front of a chipmonk hole. They're so stupid they just walk across the trap and Wammo, dead. Pick up the trap and with one sweeping motion with your arm toward a suitable disposal site, and again clamping the trigger at the same time realeases the "chippy" and sets the trap for the next victim.
