How can I make chipmunk songs without having to change the instrumentals?

I already tried making the song chipmunks but it affects the instrumentals too. How can I change the pitch of the vocals without changing the pitch of the instrumentals? I have done many things like inverting but it didn't work.

2. You're going to need to find a way of separating the vocals from the rest of the track. 2 ways to do it: - get a program that has an option to that effect. You may be able to reduce the levels on the voice track so that it's basically inaudible, then do the inverse for the other sounds, then change the pitch of the vocals and combine them again. - find a 'karaoke' version of the song (instrumental only) and re-record the vocals, then increase the pitch so that it sounds chipmunky.
