Do Lesco pest control products contain paraquat and/or rotenone?
These are chemicals that have recently been associated with Parkinson's Disease and I am obviously concerned. http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2011/02/110214115442.htm http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1761054/pdf/nihms12138.pdf http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110211/ts_alt_afp/healthusdisease%3B_ylt%3DAts4DL42QJIg0ue7chmTBqis0NUE%3B_ylu%3DX3oDMTFpdmNuNWtoBHBvcwMzOQRzZWMDYWNjb3JkaW9uX21vc3RfcG9wdWxhcgRzbGsDdXNzdHVkeWxpbmtz

- The recent news about Parkinson's disease and particular pesticides is not new. These concerns have been around for several years. If you go to the Lesco website you will see that several products are no longer used. It is highly unlikely that they now use either rotenone or paraquat; however, these are not the only pesticides which might be harmful as most pesticides seem to act as nerve agents. What you should do is to read about even the applications which seem benign. Here are some of the chemicals which are used: Bufenthrin: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bifenthrin Borid - if you are targeting roaches or ants this sounds fairly safe: http://www.lesco.com/NoCompression/GetData.aspx?Type=ProdResource&ID=2354&.pdf Carbaryl http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbaryl I suggest you contact the company with your questions as they are readily available at the website: http://www.lesco.com/ This is an older information sheet about paraquat - read with the knowledge you already have: http://www.pan-uk.org/pestnews/Actives/paraquat.htm http://www.pic.int/INCS/CRC7/k11)add2/English/CRC-7-11-Add-2_Australia_SHPF%20info_Paraquat.pdf About Rotenone, read below: http://www.nicholas.duke.edu/thegreengrok/rotenone
