Is Terminix pest control company legitimate?
I just moved to the Sacramento area and so black widows are new to me. Havent seen any inside yet but saw a few outside, so I called Terminix and they sprayed indoors and outdoors and got rid of the spider webs around my house. I'm wondering how effective Terminix is because I've read stories about the treatment not working and that their technicians arent trained properly and use water instead of chemicals... I'm paying over $400 a year, so I need to know. Thanks.

- they will be using proper mixtures and have proper training but many times due to their employee turn over you may not be getting the most experienced of tech...they are a National company with a lot of overhead so you will be paying more (salesman get a percentage,,tech gets a percentage, lots of advertising, lots of lawyers) where as a smaller local company may of been doing pest control his whole life working out of a home or small office.
- Terminix, like many companies work on the hard sell, so they will try to get you to do a "subscription" type service where they come back repeatedly (un-necessarily) and keep charging you per visit. You might try a smaller company and discuss the service to try to avoid getting roped into contracts.
- I've used them before and they are legitimate but they will try to fanagle you into getting a repeat contract. Just don't do it and by the way, spray glue works really good on black widows. They usually don't come into a place that has allot of activity and you can tell a Black Widows web from a regular spider web because they have no shape to them. Any other spiders web has some kind of design to them.
- Legitimate? Sure. Over priced? Yup High pressured? Sure. You would have been better off with a local independent who needs your money instead of a huge national one that could care less.
