Can a landlord pay a super to buy pest control products and treat the apartments in new jersey?

Landlord claims since its his building and there are five apartments he has the right to pay his super or treat the building himself for pest control even though neither are licensed for pest control applications, the products they buy are from the store (over the counter). Is this violation of the law in New Jersey.

  1. If the products used are over the counter, logic would dictate that the user need not be licensed. The only issue I could envision is if the products were ot applied according to directions.
  2. Sounds like you need a new place, feel free to contact me, www.realestatehelen.com. Best of luck to you!
  3. Why would it be a violation of the law, and why would it concern you? Most people complain about landlords who don't take care of things, and it sounds like yours is.
  4. Of course it is legal. He is buying over the counter control products, which do not require a license to apply. Anyone, including you, can apply such products legally.
  5. no because it is general use pesticed. if it were restricted use pesticides then they could get in big trouble.
