Does the stuff that pest control people use in the yards also kill toads?

Pest control came and sprayed my yard for fleas and ticks (the dogs say "Thank you!") but now I've noticed that I don't see any toads and I had a few. I just wondered if the stuff that use for one may have caused the other. I miss the toads and their musical song at night.
