Do sonic pest control devices really work?

I've seen sonic pest control devices advertised, apparently they emit a sound and keep bugs away. Has anyone used these with any success? Do they really work? Where can I get them?

  1. One of the first on the market did the exact opposite, it attracted the biting flies...........
  2. NOPE! another waste of money put a few of them in garage out back had field mice.. they suckers build a nest under one of them.. must really annoy them... and as for bugs they were great for spiders to hang webs from! i got conned, its like trying to spray mace at pigeons roosting on your windows wasted a whole can... they have no tear ducts .. have one wet bird though..
  3. i use them and i have no mice or any rodents... but then again i do have 8 cats to.....so i guess i'll never know.....
  4. We have a mouse pest control devise at our cottage. It emits a sound in the same fashion. I believe it works. We have never had a mouse upstairs, only in the lower level when we didn't have the devise downstairs. Insects might be different.
  5. The question you should ask is what is the effect of these ultra high frequencies on your mind and brain and your hearing ?
  6. Yes! I got one when the downstairs apartment was being renovated. The building work sent mice up into my place. I could hear them munching! Friends said "Get a trap, or poison." Then one guy pointed out that with a trap, you have a body - with poison, they will die & stink out the house. But traps are so old-fashioned I couldn't find one for sale. I got a sonic device in the local supermarket. I've also seen them in hardware stores. After I plugged it in, I guess the mice went out the way they got in, because I was never troubled by them again. It had no effect on my brain! Other than peace of mind, better hygiene, freedom from munching rodents!
