Other than an using a pest control service, what is the best solution for treating silver fish?
We need products that are "pet safe".

- keep the areas clean and dry because they like warm moist areas, close off any holes in walls or cracks where they can enter. keep lights on because they hate light, also spray citrus juice around where they are hanging out. that should get rid of the pests.
- Dry your place out and get rid of all paper - wall paper, cellulose insulation, newspaper shelf liners, all of it. Gone. Silverfish eat paper in moist dark environments. If you see 1 silver fish, you have 1,000.
- I always refer to my favorite pest control website from the University of California, Davis http://ipm.ucdavis.edu/PMG/PESTNOTES/pn7475.html This is for silverfish and reiterates what the other answerers said. Clean, dry, plug holes, get rid of water source... It looks like you can use boric acid (which I think is fairly harmless to us) or diatomaceous earth which is totally harmless to us except when inhaling it in LARGE amounts. Anywho, check it out!
