Is pest control more sales of service or just service itself?

This would be my first job in this field, what is the average pay to expect and Do you spend most of your time generating sales or do you spend most of the time driving to, applying the service, follow up with customer(s), ect.?

1. you spend most of your time generating sales AND driving to, applying the service, follow up with customer(s), etc. Lot's of work but if your good at it, you can advance out of that company into a better one (Scotts, etc.)
