Does anyone have a good method to get rid of roaches?

I've had 2 different pest control services, and I can't get rid of the roaches in my kitchen.

1. Keep it clean - make sure all the food is in containers that roaches cannot get into. If they do not have anything to eat they will not keep coming back
2. you have to get Chinese Chalk- it looks like chalk but is actually a very deadly poision- they should be gone in a week! but be VERY weary if you have pets or small children as it can do serious neurological damage if ingested!
