Pest Problem?

I killed 4 ants and a spider in my house im renting last night. However, my landlord isn't ready to get an extirminator yet. What are good products to get to control the pest problem? Is spray good or should i set up traps?

1. My husband goes to a do it yourself pest control store and he gets this stuff called Demon . That stuff works really good it kills everything.
2. I hate ants and recommend a couple things. If they are in your cupboard searching for food sprinkle a dusting of Borax If you see where they are entering/exiting you can sprinkle some cinnamon or black pepper. I found a google site that includes other tips Please try not to kill the spiders at least. The spiders are your friend as they will eat the other insects.
3. Spray should work if it's only ants and spiders. The key is to spray inside and out.
