My Tabby is still not eating or drinking?

My 3 year old Tabby isn't eating? We sprayed all the ants yesterday, and the pest control person knew we have 5 cats, and we asked him to used a product that wont hurt my cats. It's the weekend so I can't call because they're closed. He was mainly spraying for ants.I'm not sure "where" he sprayed though.Do you think it could of got to my tabby though? What can I do to help her? She's acting really depressed and refusing to eat food, please tell me what I can do to help! * 2 days ago * - 5 days left to answer. Additional Details 1 second ago I have taken Mandy to the vet. She was given a penicillin needle, the drip for 5 mins, and cloramax. She was running a fever that day. After bringing her home she was fine for about 2 hrs but then went back to the same sick state by not eating or drinking. any suggestions? I am taking her to the vet at 5pm today. I currently have two cats now on antibiotics. One had flu symptoms due to a little kitty I adopted. He has a raw red nose from licking his nose due to the cold and the other tabby is still got fever. Although I have taken both of them to the vet, what else can she recommend she do that I can suggest to her. I have had many vet trips this past 3 weeks so Im just riding the lows right now with my cats.

  1. I hope it gets well soon!! All I can say is we should just pray for the best to come!! God Bless!! you both!!
  2. It sounds like the pest control person didn't pay any attention to what you told him about having cats, and used a poison that's making your cat sick. My yard was sprayed a few years ago,and the spray blew over onto the cats food.............I thought it was safe, but turned out it wasn't.........she died!! Keep the cat away from the area that was treated, and as soon as the pest "place" opens (it's Wednesday, now) find out WHAT he used, and let your vet know the name of it, so he can give an antidote to the cat! I hope you've already taken care of this, and the cat is ok. If she survives this, and you have something like this (spraying) again, make SURE that all food, water, toys, etc are PUT AWAY from the "possibility" of any spray getting on them. Good luck.........
  3. Sorry to hear about your cat. tempt her with tuna fish water/oil from canned fish. Sometimes eggs, scrambled will tempt them too. And.. last resort. Ice cream.. yes it has milk, but it also has water and calories that are needed, as long as you know she hasnt gotten sick from milk in the past.
  4. I am sorry do not have a lot of suggestions for care of your cat BUT........ In the future you may want to always avoid the exterminator route for ridding your house of ants. I own and operate a luxury cat boarding facility and we are always full with cats which means lots of bowls of food on the floors, which as you know brings ants. We used to use a bug service for years which really did not work all that great and it was a huge risk to the 60 cats we housed. So I did some research and found that bait was the answer. Go to the yellow pages or online and find companies who sell extermination supplies and buy the best tubes of bait they have. Use all around the outside of the house, you can get bait stations or just drizzle small drips in areas next to the foundation of the house where the ants are likely to come in from. We do this ever 2-3 months and we never have ants and we never have to use poisons in the house. Do not use it indoors for obvious reason but also it will bring in the ants looking for food if they find what they think is food outside (poison bait) they will not come in looking for food source. WORKS GREAT FOR ALL PET OWNERS AND IS DIRT CHEAP.... WAY CHEAPER AND BETTER THAN POISON SPRAYS. Good luck with the kitten it might just take supportive care until she recovers..
  5. It's possible the spray isn't the cause ...just coincidence ...although I've heard pyrethrin is toxic to cats but considered a natural product and therefore, safe. She might have an infection from an abscess or flu or even something like a tick. I think the vet will have to put her on a drip to rehydrate her. They might even anaesthetise her if she has been poisoned to lessen the affect of seizures. In the mean time keep her in a quiet dark place. Do NOT give her any human medication like paracetamol I hope she's OK fingers and toes crossed (c; I just had a look at your other posts ...if you've had a kitten with some sort of flu in the house it's quite possible the other cats might have caught it. Generally, cats survive things that kittens might not so I've still got everything crossed
