does this item work????

1. I used one once... Unfortunately, it didn't work at all. *I* was the only one who wanted to leave, because of the unbearable screeching sound it made. Sorry, but I have to recommend simply calling an exterminator.
2. Theoretically, you can only 'nuisance' them out. And if there's incentive enough for them to overcome the nuisance, then it's just a minor irritation to them. And coverage is limited, meaning you need to spend more for better coverage, all for something that is only a nuisance to begin with. It doesn't kill them, and that's what it would take to be effective, so save your money.
