Natural pest/mice control??
MN is starting to get cold, so here come the mice! I haven't found this season's entry point to plug up yet, so need a non-toxic deterrent. My son said his car restoration books advise putting cubes of Irish Spring out, as the scent is so strong mice won't come around. Is this true? If not, what else? We were using live traps for several years, but many of the little buggers are now figuring out how to escape them!

- Nothing beats a slightly hungry cat!
- get a cat, or a bb gun.
- Well, I know how it is when you get mice because of when they did construction on my neighbor's house, they came because of the dirt field. What you do is you get some sticky traps, they sell them at dollar stores and such. Place peanut butter on the middle of the trap. Peanut butter attracts the mice and they should be gone in no time.
- Don't know about Irish Spring. Moth balls work also, they say. I use those sticky traps, they get stuck and you dispose of the mouse and trap!
- Well, as a compassionate person (aka bleeding heart female) who hates killing anything, I say repel them, don't kill them! Try this stuff (see link below) or find something like this with fox or badger urine. You can't smell it but they can! Having a cat or two helps. Also you may want to buy tupperware containers for your dry goods (rice, flour, cereal, etc.) so they can't smell it or get to it.
