What is Boric acid and how dose it work ? Is there a non toxic powder or one that can be made?

that will kill roaches ? How can I break the breeding cycle ? I prefure answers from Floridians, or any state simular to, Centrel Florida's climet.. Palmeto bugs, wolf spiders, too.. I need dry treatments, none toxic as well as toxic ideas here, I have pets, cats.... I Can not afford a profesional pest control service. I also live in a moble home. No jokers, natural pest control techs. farmers, poor folks like me.. I have lived here in Florida 43 years, I have Never seen these pests as bad as I have seen them this year. Help....

1. im using boric acid that i rolled in flour and bacon grease to get them to eat it. they love it... and they are dieing too.
2. Cucumber peels work well behind the kitchen appliances. Witchhazel on your door jambs and window frames will help keep 'em from crawling in.
3. I too live in a manufactured home. As far as toxic have them spray underneath the trailer and the perimeter really good. As far as non-toxic, the only thing I have ever seen work 100% is the bottom of your shoe. I'm surprised that your cats aren't having a blast with the Palmetto bugs, Mine do! I never had a problem with wolf spiders. I leave them alone and they leave me alone. They must be good for something! I haven't had roaches in about twenty years. Boric Acid when mixed with water (1/4 tsp. to 1 cup of water) makes an excellent eye wash, but I have never in all my 47 years seen the stuff kill a roach. The cats could go to a pet boarding place for about 2 weeks and you for a couple of nights. Get the bug bombers out there to put a tent over your home and gas them buggers. Then you would have to come back and clean with a mask and gloves. I'm sorry honey, but with all the bad weather down that way the bugs have to go some where.
